I want to live in a blue state, but yall make it too damn expensive to do that. It’s ridiculous.

Blue states always have more out of the way parts, which have the benefit of the blue state laws while being more rural. I recently moved from Hampton roads in Virginia to rural Oregon. Both are blue states but less expensive parts.

Just move to a swing state so you can have more political influence

Maryland might also not be too bad depending on the area

Southeast Virginia is nice, depending on what you are looking for in a place. Can get a cheapish property in a rural area near Richmond or Virginia Beach and can easily drive to do stuff.

What about the suburbs I want to live close to an airport and city for like concerts and stuff and I guess like events I feel like rural areas r less well accepting

So I’m from a small suburban city called Williamsburg, which is smack dab between Richmond and Hampton (about an hour each way). It’s kind of pricey mostly because it’s a college town, but there’s cheaper properties farther out into the county. There’s other cheap areas in Gloucester county and Newport News, but it depends on the neighborhood how nice it is. Richmond and Hampton roads have a lot of suburbs, but you’d need to check property prices.

Northern Virginia is known for being very expensive. Hampton roads isn’t cheap to my knowledge, but it’s not like that at least. I know my rent here in south-central Oregon is less than what it would be in Williamsburg, but that’s because Williamsburg apartments are all college students.
