If you actually valued meritocracy you’d understand that the USA does not and has not had a meritocracy for a long time, if at all. Wealth has always equaled power here. Meritocracy is incompatible with our current system.
It’s so tiring how Leftists make everything about skin color The CIA Director is Asian. The FBI Director is “brown.” Many woman in senior positions and Supreme Court As a Conservative, my goal is a meritocratic society where ALL Americans thrive

I agree, yes it’s imperfect bc of wealth, but America remains a place where anyone, no matter their skin color or gender, can be incredibly successful. The sky is the limit. That sure beats some Communist country where NOBODY is afforded opportunity

The American dream is a myth designed to attract working class immigrants for a labor pool and build up the mythos of American exceptionalism. America has the same systemic barriers against minorities as other countries. It has the same systemic barriers against poor people. The system is designed against and to profit off (exploit) non whites, women, and non-Christian’s. Our nation had a civil war over slavery and despite the slavers losing the physical war their ideology governs us today.
