If it can’t happen at 17, it’ll happen at 18. She had also been on hormone blockers since she was 11, so the alternative would’ve been micropenis. She was also something like 1/3200 TOTAL sex changes regardless of age. Lastly look at this figure from a 2024 study (Bodley et al). The figure for children aged 15-17 in the US is 13.2M. If 2 for every 100K receive a sex change, there’s 264 total operations yearly.

Also gonna mention that the graph I sent is only breast reductions, with cisgender males being compared with FTM trans dudes. Cis women would likely be less than cis men but much more than trans men. As for bottom surgery, likely wouldn’t even hold a candle to any of the above.
