Israeli troops have targeted journalists (more journalists have been killed than in any other modern day conflict), UN healthcare workers, and civilians (documented cases of civilians being shot in the head and targeted at aid sites). Gazans were told to go to Rafah to avoid being bombed. Look at Rafah on google maps, it is bombed more than anywhere else. They did not let people leave & have denied most requests for medical evacuations, even children and elderly and cancer patients

More journalists have affiliation with the militia that initiated the war in Gaza than any time previous. Hamas doesn’t follow protocol 1 of the Geneva convention. Their tactics both in warfare and in propaganda creation put even legitimate journalists at risk. They often use ngo’s, ambulances and other civilian and aid infrastructure putting even legitimate aid workers and innocent civilians at risk.

As for Rafa, things change. When they were fighting in the north, Gazans were told to go south. Mind you, it’s documented that Hamas told people to stay put and not to flee. There were also videos of Hamas gunning people down in the street while civilians fled via the humanitarian corridor. Now, Hamas was holding hostages in Rafa, Hamas kept fighting from Rafa and so things change and Rafa needed to be dealt with, that’s why they created the Al-mowasi zone or however it’s spelled.

Your justification for Israel’s carpet bombing of civilian infrastructure is that terrorists may be hiding in those buildings. Despite the fact that over 80% of the Palestinians murdered since October 7 have been civilians. Israel’s own defense minister has explicitly said his government aims to ethnically cleanse Palestine. To reference settlements in the West Bank, the Israeli government tears down illegal settlements. While settlement expansion in my opinion does more harm than good (it’s an optics issue), I learned the history. Over 150,000 Jews were violently ethnically cleansed from “the West Bank” by Jordan, transplanting Arabs into villages and cities that were majority Jewish, or had Jews continuously living there for thousands of years. So wanting to essentially “move back” is understandable.

Okay well at least we can agree on Ben Gvir being an insane person. But i don’t get how you can acknowledge that but not the war crimes that are happening. Like Israeli troops got found liable for systemic sexual abuse in the Gaza strip- do you not think that is a war crime? After those soldiers r**** the detainee, why did Netanyahu defend them saying they shouldn’t be charged and that “heroes should be protected”? That is exactly the problem. Rules are not being followed or enforced.

War crimes are a problem, especially when they’r proven independently to be true, are awful and need to be addressed. For the sake of argument I’ll grant you the overall premise that there have been war crimes. (War crimes =\= genocide, but that’s a whole other thing) But the problem here lies, as we discuss it on the other side of the world, is that the existence of war crimes, or even the allegation is being used to delegitimize Israel as a state, all the while the other side gets a pass
