I think you’re overestimating the political and historical knowledge of the average American. Most people don’t know or care about the difference between Hitler and the Kaiser. They just see them as two authoritarians.

What I’m mainly getting at is that the MAGA we see now doesn’t hold a gd candle to the MAGA we might see later if we fail to reintegrate them into the rest of the world, the metaphor being post-WWI Germany having all the pre-conditions for that jerk, Hitler to rise to power

It’s unfortunate bc that part of history kinda has the same negative PR that the Roman Empire does, being that that one fucking weirdo you know is really into them. That being said though, I think weget a chance to learn the difference firsthand within the decade
