Renee was still alive by the time paramedics arrived. I.C.E. refused to let bystanders provide first aid she might have survived if not for this. If it didn’t start as murder, it certainly ended that way.

There’s also a strong possibility that she was already dead, and that they were prevented from reaching her so that they could not call a time of death as reliably.

it seems like she might have put her forearm up to block the head shot, from the NYT article She was also shot in the chest. It’s possible that’s what killed her. But ofc im not a coroner or a doctor so I’m just speculating

I mean, there have been many cases of people surviving being shot in the head. Like I’ve seen a guy where a bullet rattled around his head and he still survived despite having to lay there for 10 minutes before an ambulance got there
