Why is dsa so against Ukraine, I know it’s probably not all of them but there is a good chunk that are staunchly against them and favor Russia for whatever reason

I’m saying this as a leftist btw. But they think that just because America has done a lot of bad shit, that means anti-America is automatically good. With Ukraine in particular they’ve really bought the propaganda about nato expansion being a threat to Russian sovereignty.

Yeah from what I’ve gathered is this idea that the United States and nato have been goading/bullying Russia into invading, which yk all they had to do was not invade even if that was the case. Cuz some act like we forced them to invade and start a war

Also like idk why tf contrarian leftists are pro Russia. This isnt the Soviet days where you could point to them as at least being ideologically socialist. They’re a bunch of tsar-glorifiers now. The country run by oligarchs isn’t a beacon of leftism.
