
This could easily happen in the US. The issue was that the jet stream caused higher winds, leading to a surge in wind power generation, increasing the supply significantly. The jet stream brings in warm air, so there’s less demand for electricity to power heaters. If there’s too much oversupply, the price can go to 0

Nuclear is really hard to ramp down, which is why it’s not good for areas where the demand varies greatly. Solar and wind inverters can be ramped down easily to solve oversupply issues. The other options are to store it somewhere (which costs money) or export it (which requires someone to accept it)
