Do you not understand that 60 votes are needed to pass a continuing resolution!? Do you not understand how this works? All republicans + 1 independent + 1 democrat voted to pass the CR to keep funding the government so debates could happen on healthcare. Democrats refused to vote for it 14 times now. If 5 democrats would vote to pass the CR, the government would open immediately. Republicans cannot force them to vote even though they have a slim majority. Learn how the government works.

You just said yea technically the. Proceeded to tell me I don’t understand how the gov works 😂. I just told you how it works. Republicans did not shut down the government. Chuck Schumer did. 8 moderate democrats finally decided to allow the gov to reopen by voting on a bipartisan CR (which dems AND reps voted for previously). Also, there was nothing the reps wanted from this. The CR simply funds the gov so that debates can happen. There were no demands to meet. So how did reps shut down the gov
