People should know about Foekje Dillema, a talented Dutch woman who was banned from track and field in 1950 after chromosome tests. She was intersex. Intersex people are as common as redheads. An obsession over chromosomes hurts women’s sports.

Intersex women ARE women if they identify as such. This obsession over “omg what chromosomes does she have” and “what are her exact natural hormone levels” sucks. Excluding women from sports hurts women. And obsessing over the genitalia of women athletes is disgusting.
