Exactly 40 years ago today on April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster happened, a devastating disaster that killed and displaced thousands, if you haven’t already i strongly suggest watching the tv show Chernobyl on HBO, it’s phenomenal

Fukushima? Three Mile? Deepwater Horizon? This wasn’t a problem that was specifically unique to the USSR. Bureaucratic denial isn’t a socialist concept.

The dramatization is what made it good, I’m not disagreeing with that. There were just weird points where they made the Soviets come across as being innately incompetent. It would be like doing a show on the Deep Horizon and fitting in scenes where the oil baron fat cat comes in to tell everyone they need more oil for their evil deeds.
