Why is it so hard for dudes on the Internet to understand that consenting to a threesome or meeting up with someone does not mean you consented to having them invite all their friends to come up rape you while you’re super drunk and high on ketamine

It feels like all these guys want to defend the rapists because “something like this could happen to me she changed her mind after the fact blah blah.” Like unless you’re genuinely a monster who invites all his friends to rape some functionally unconscious girl then this shouldn’t happen to you

didnt she "consent" to the threesome when she got to the frat house, by which time she was already like 10 drinks in, and maybe on ketamine? or maybe they supplied her with it

There’s a stigma against women that they never take accountability. In the case of Jane Doe, all signs point to her consenting in the moment, and then changing the narrative to avoid being considered a “slut”. Regardless, what the guys did was wrong, nobody should deny that.

It’s revealing and sad the number of dudes who are going out of their way to express how angry they are that this is even getting investigated. Just make sure you actually have consent and that you’re checking in with your partner and there are zero issues

Yup. I’ve had similar experiences with my brothers. The girls all provided consent but if any of those girls we’ve ran a train on change their mind about the consent bc she’s lowkey embarrassed or emotional then we’d be in big trouble

Seriously. If you hear about something like this and you feel more like the rapists than you feel like the victim could be someone close to you who you’d want to protect from monsters like this, you really need to reevaluate your life. The anger seems to come from a place of “I’ve done something like this before, it’s no big deal” or “I feel like I should be able to do something like this and get away with it”

I feel like the vibe from guys at my school (SEC college) at least is “all these woke complainers just hate frat guys for no reason and are willing to lie to destroy their lives. Because these girls are actually sexually immoral and to blame for anything happening”. Same kinda crowd as the Christian victim complex folks.

I think a lot of it is coming from this foundational misunderstanding about consent, and how it’s most functionally important part is that it is ALWAYS retractable during any interaction. If it cannot be retracted due to consciousness, inebriation, or other reasons, then that person cannot consent and the interaction ends. A lot of these men are unknowingly demonstrating their ignorance of consent by talking about her initial consent as the evidence of the innocence of the accused…

These women are retracting their consent after the fact.

Yes that usually happens when you are inebriated and experience such a thing… and yes usually rape is reported after the fact. Plenty of women don’t realize they’ve been raped UNTIL afterwards too.

You really should read “Know My Name” by Chanel Miller.

If you gave consent at the time and later regretted it, that doesn’t mean you can retroactively withdraw the consent you already gave. That would be regret, not necessarily a lack of consent. And it’s okay to regret some stuff. Thats like me saying all the tortas and ugly girls I’ve fucked have raped me bc I regret it now

My understanding of this situation is that she consented to a threesome with a couple of them, one of which texted all his friends “free pussy” and had a bunch of other guys come into the room who she did not consent to sex with. And he later claimed that they only came up there because the party was too crowded and they needed room. So I just don’t really buy that this is a case of a woman “retracting her consent” because of regret. These guys all knew what they were involving themselves in

The story currently (from my understanding, take with a grain of salt) is that she was many drinks in when she arrived at the frat house, they supplied her with one or two more drinks and seemingly a lot of ketamine. Current NY State law though is that, because she willingly became that intoxicated, she would have to prove that she was too intoxicated to consent to the threesome. Which she may as well have been, but it’s pretty difficult to prove that. In any case though, whatever legal

protection that would have provided to the men involved in the threesome is kinda wiped off the table due to the fact they effectively then sex trafficked her to the rest of the frat house

Do you not include any room for the possibility that Doe initially underplayed the situation for fear of getting in trouble for being an intoxicated minor and then realized that she had in fact been raped? If no, why not?

Are you implying that going to a frat means people consent to or should expect these sorts of things?
