There’s still a lot of older religious bigotry which predates widespread conceptions of race that can still be prominent in many regions. Like that applies for bigotry against other religious groups but it’s also where we get homophobia from in the west.

You’re not very smart are you? Poverty = crime. Our country forces people of color into poverty at a far greater rate than white people. White people are vastly the majority in this country. So when a person of color goes to commit a crime because they have been left no other option, it’s likely a white person they do it to because that’s who is around them the most.
