Her mom died in 2020 and that shit broke my heart. That woman had to watch her child suffer through desegregation by herself and fear for her life at such a young age, and was lucky enough to watch her grow into the woman she is today… only to die during one of the worst years for violence and protest against racial violence since those days when Ruby first walked into that school.
