Not all European Jewish people look white. Also they are undergoing a lot of racialization currently by both white supremacists AND liberals in a covert way (even though they claim that they are white people). Claiming, for instance, that Israel is a white settler colonial state actually inflames their atrocities because they live in a retrofitted world in which the racialization of Jewish people is still in full swing as they never left holocaust-consciousness. I’m Ashkenazi and don’t view myself as white today, but I also didn’t view myself as non-white earlier in life. This is partially due to moving to a higher UV environment in which my latent middle eastern features became more apparent and the high levels of current racialization emerging. Race isn’t static
