
I think much of it stems honestly from the fact that lots of American companies have outsourced things like customer support/IT/consulting (roles where communication is important) to Indian companies/workers for cost reasons. This has resulted in lots of American job losses in good-paying, white collar roles where people now interact with generally less qualified (traditionally speaking at least) people with varying levels of English proficiency. everyone involved but I don’t necessarily hold ill will against India or the population, rather the American government/corporations that enabled and participated in the offshoring. I have empathy for Indians in the sense that they’re just doing what’s best for them financially given the circumstances, especially considering they still don’t make a lot (it’s a cost cutting measure after all) and their work environments aren’t always as nice as what you’d experience in the US
