I may be desperate to pay for college, but I applied for the navy submarine program before some dumb shit like joining ICE, fuck that noise.
In this environment, if I applied for and got a job offer for an administrative position at DHS, CBP, or ICE, I’d ___
#poll
decline the offer
accept, but not tell anyone
accept and announce on linkedin
n/a, i’m not *that* unemployed yet

Facilitating that abroad is better? Are Americans more special than other citizens?

Who said someone working in a submarine is violating anyone’s rights? Depends whether it’s just for surveillance or offensive operations and what their role is. Hell, they could be a medic or something

America is an empire, imperialism is bad, ergo working for the empire doing imperialism is bad. This is not a job like any other. Contributing to America’s domination of the globe is objectively not a good thing.

Weren’t you just arguing that working for Amazon isn’t bad? Amazon provides cloud services to the IDF

And what is considered “working for America”? Any government job? Or just the military/defense-adjacent?

I should’ve been more clear there. I meant the military specifically. Walmart lobbies against raising the minimum wage, is working at Walmart anti-worker? No; the Walton family, like Bezos, are going to do that anyways. You’re not directly facilitating them. And even if in your opinion that is not correct, Amazon doesn’t have a military (yet/that we know of) with a long history of sowing death and misery across the face of the Earth.
