why? our pilots are among our worst of the worst, they murder so many more people than ground forces.

Can you elaborate? I thought they had to follow strict plans from their higher ups. Not that “just following orders” is any excuse but the way you worded it makes it sound like they engage in extracurricular cruelty, which is even more frightening

My point was just that by its nature, airstrikes, especially on the scale of destroying infrastructure kill way more innocent people than for instance, a land invasion do. One pilot can kill dozens of hundreds of people, or if we consider externalities like bombing the water supply, can kill thousands. A grunt with a rifle can’t do that.
