I think it’s less about focusing on gun laws to solve gun violence and more actually focusing on the root cause of social inequality and other socioeconomic factors that drive people to commit such crimes

This is true, however, even in places with similar problems to us like the UK and especially Japan the number of gun related crimes is still much lower, so while it wouldn’t be a perfect solution it is very clearly an effective one.
