You have that reversed. Rittenhouse went with an assault rifle with the intention of upsetting protestors crossing state lines to do so. Alex had a concealed carry handgun that was not brandished nor was even pulled out. Rittenhouse shot and killed protestors when they tried to take his gun away. Alex was killed by federal agents after he helped up a women pepper sprayed by those agents.
