i see posts calling it out for the dogwhistles and shit, and those posts get replies like "everyones a nazi now i guess" "schizo" "youre just crazy" and then you check the profiles of those commenters and its just them decorating themselves with nazi war medals and their bio is their title in the ss and all they interact with is genocidal rhetoric

I will be fully honest, I don’t think this is Nazi shit either. Not because I think an American corporation would be against using Sweeney for that, but mostly because the horned up old AE execs probably saw the play on words and were too busy gooning over the ad to second guess if it could be interpreted as something dubious.

I didn’t listen to the ad but that seems like a stretch. She is pretty. There are pretty people in every ethnic group. Saying someone has good genes is maybe more of something your grandma would say rather than like, a trendy pickup line, but… it feels like a stretch to call it nazi propaganda

Yea like it doesn’t strike me as Nazi-ish at all tbh. I agree, saying someone has good genes isn’t necessarily connected to race at all. It’s def a grandma compliment though you’re right about that. My grandma has probably said that to me tbh.

“Good genes” is an inherently eugenic phrase. It would be weird and eugenicsy even if it weren’t Sweeney but yeah her being blonde and blue eyed makes it worse
