Always great to see Seinfeld get his ass reamed

You’d think a guy who helped make a movie about finding love in the midst of a capitalistic hellscape would be a bit more down to earth.

How ardently pro Israel is he? Don’t know much about it

I love the blatant contrast between “oh heya what’s the deal with cellphones these days am I right?” Corny ass jokes with people yelling at him for supporting Israel’s genocide

Money isolates and corrupts, few people’s principles are as solid as they would seem

Oh, I am sadly very aware. Still terrible to witness, though.

His mother is a Syrian Jew. He makes me look moderate, and I think some of the settlements are ok.

Wow crazy comment for a lot of reasons but I appreciate the explanation 🙏

Ok context: his mother’s family were Jews from Aleppo ethnically cleansed from Syria prior to Israel’s founding and emigrated to the United States probably illegally with Turkish nationality. Seinfeld understands why Israel is necessary and is old enough to have lived through the history and have the opinions he has.

And now he supports a state ethnically cleansing other families. He’s come full circle

Maybe, that’s probably not his nuanced take but Palestine is where nuance goes to die.

It’s not that controversial that Israel is ethnically cleansing the people who had been previously living in the territory of Palestine. It is explicitly a colonial project and the founders don’t even dispute this.

Yep. Sure would be cool if Palestinians had leadership that ever cared about doing more to resist this aside from just murdering random Jews.

Hmm seems like peacefully protesting wasn’t working. I wonder how many of your family members you’d watch get shot in the knees before you got pretty pissed off

It’s pretty rough when you go out to peacefully protest and your terrorist government puts a bunch of people in the crowd to throw firebombs, that must really suck. By the way, every single casualty in the major skirmishes during the Great March of Return is claimed by Hamas as a fighter openly, contrary to their normal schtick of saying everyone is a civilian, and also a child.

Why do you think the IDF makes sure to kill or arrest those peaceful people first?

And, by the way, the IDF could kneecap every man, woman, and child in Gaza and it still wouldn’t justify the targets and conduct of fighters on October 7th, giving Israel the exact same moral authority to level Gaza that they have.

They don’t have the luxury of resisting their occupation and annihilation in the most ethical possible way, and even if they only attacked military bases I have a feeling you’re wouldn’t suddenly be more understanding

Thanks for not clinging to the lie that the form of their resistance is justified.

Also, there’s an 80 year history of Palestinians murdering random Jews in resistance, I like how you cherry pick the one actually peaceful grassroots demonstration that was immediately co-opted by their terrorist government.

They’re being slowly annihilated from existence with brief periods of mass slaughters, I don’t think it’s my right to clutch pearls about their means of resistance

This is happening because their leaders, again, have historically not had a strategic thought in their heads beyond “Kill Jew, people like.” Israeli leadership in turn has no reason to stop Palestinian leadership from repeatedly making the same mistakes, and Netanyahu even pushes them to do it.

You’re obviously misrepresenting their leadership because it’s easier for you to think they are simply dumb brutes rather than people who are aware that they are being erased from existence systematically and violently over time, and that this erasure is supported by some of the wealthiest and most powerful nations on the planet.

Should I condemn the violent Jews who were resisting the Nazis? And have a day to mourn Nazis that were killed in unethical violent acts? If only a peaceful leader had arose and simply negotiated with Hitler

I’m not misrepresenting their leaders at all. Arafat was a dumb brute. Hamas are dumb brutes. Abbas is powerless and terrified of going outside because his own people see him as a collaborator because the PASF lets the IDF conduct raids per their legal agreements. You’re mistaking my characterization of Palestinian leadership as applying to Palestinians generally, which it doesn’t. When Jews revolted against Nazis, who did they kill, and why would you condemn them for it?

Condemn them for what, killing Nazis or killing random Germans? I’m asking why *you* would condemn them for it, and what *it* is.
