i am so, so tired of looking at republicans go “queers are subhuman! immigrants are subhuman! democrats are demonic devils!” - REACTING by going “if you don’t think i or my friends are human - right back at you” - and being told I’M the problem

i will treat you with the exact same open mind you do me. unfortunately for the majority of the republican party and their “human” status, i’m transgender.

You both suck. Just treat people as individuals and have genuine love in your heart.

And then we get told we need to tolerate them….they want us to die HELLO???

It’s hard to do that when they don’t see me as human man. Why is the problem Us when people in power are doing everything they can to erase us and we’re justifiably upset about that

the love in my heart is genuine. but you have to WORK to access it. you aren’t deserving of my kindness just because you think you are. you have to EARN that.

Being upset isn’t wrong, it is the right response to injustice, and it does sometimes even require aggressive action. But you don’t have to dehumanize and you don’t have to hate to do that.

Simultaneously, #2 - politically? I will NEVER vote to restrict a single one of your rights (yes - even the guns). I will NEVER vote to turn you or your friends into second class citizens. I will NEVER vote to restrict your healthcare. I will NEVER vote to make it so you can’t marry or adopt. Republicans - ALL of them - do not extend the same courtesy to me. So I react accordingly.

I’m not treating the people who support a child rapist and sex trafficker like I treat everybody else. What is wrong with you? It isn’t kindness to permit the social acceptance of rape and pedophilia, which is explicitly what’s happening. This should ALL be shamed.

#2, they hate ME for BEING ALIVE. I hate THEM for the things they DO AND SAY. Not equivalent. Why pretend they are?

I appreciate you trying to level and understanding that anger and being upset isn’t wrong, but this is a situation I am experiencing and no one can say what the Wrong Way to react is. I’m afraid and targeted, of course i hate the people doing it. There are proposals for national bans on any literature of my community, trans people in federal prisons are being tortured, Kansas trans people got their liscences invalidated with no grace period…

There are Lots, LOTS of good people out there that don’t want to demonize my community. Unfortunately the people in power do. I still think theyre human, yeah, just humans doing evil shit for no reason other than it brings them glee

Exactly what you said OP—why is the problem Our Reaction and not the fact the people in power Hate that we Exist?

Bro I’m sorry I’m not going to stop shaming people who support a pedophile. A pedophile is also “still human”, but the kind thing to do is shame them. Im sorry, but it has to be publicly unacceptable to support pedophiles.

You aren’t being a good person by socially normalizing the support of someone who we KNOW raped and murdered children.

I appreciate you being real, and sharing what you’re going through. I don’t think you’re hateful or even that you are the kind of person I was addressing with my comment. I just don’t want to see a kind of tit for tat politics that results in both sides wanting to enslave or kill each other, which is what dehumanization leads to.

By all means, resist, take action, vote, do whatever you have to do to defend your own humanity and make life better, but don’t start calling people cattle and irredeemable cause thats what causes the atrocities we see throughout history. That obviously goes for everyone, regardless of anything they believe or identify with.

#2, thank you for your genuine engagement here. Let me put something into perspective for you. It’s extremely easy to condemn tit for tat when you aren’t living through a constant assault OF tats. At a certain point, you stop caring about morality and you just want some goddamn justice.

… #2. I’m not the person who wrote the “they belong in the fields” post. I never called anyone cattle. I never called anyone irredeemable. In the future, we may have an easier time in our discussion if you approach me based on the things that I SAID as opposed to another random anon.

Yeah, I get that saying all this from the outside is a lot easier than when you’re under all that pressure. I don think it makes what I’ve said any less true, but it can certainly be an extremely difficult thing to live out and not at least give into hat and malice a little when you’re under that kind of pressure.

The “cattle” part wasn’t directed at you, I already said you probably aren’t the person my comments were addressing, and I didn’t go into the conversation thinking you were the same person, I was just giving an example.

No but you should, because nazis are literally not human. That was our greatest mistake in WW2, letting the vast majority of Nazi war criminals live.

The thing that would have to be done to defend our humanity would literally be to ban the GOP and put a huge amount of people into reeducation programs. There’s no other solution to half the country literally being nazis.
