They still have the original town hall where the articles of confederation were written (although they moved to a different city further east before it was ratified)

Not related to our independence but I did an archaeology camp in front of one of the high schools, we were finding tons of artifacts from when the confederates occupied the city (which like, is crazy bc we’re further north and east than Gettysburg)

Yeah I say we, but all I found in my square was some rubber bullets from the civil rights protest era and some oyster shells from the camp itself. Other squares found contemporary, one found a buckle and one found 2 contemporary lead bullets Before I was old enough to join that the camp did a dig literally right down the road from me for a revolutionary era iron furnace, but I don’t think they ever found anything. Would’ve been nice tho I could’ve walked to and from camp every day
