im also going to add zionism’s many definitions don’t line up neatly. jews who don’t consider themselves zionists have been accused of being zionists by antizionists. jews who do consider themselves zionists have been accused of being antizionists. entire antisemitic discrimination campaigns in places like Poland, Russia, and Iran have been conducted under the guise of “antizionism” bc the term “zionism” is so insanely vague you can stretch it to include practically any Jew

So are you claiming that Zionist & Zionism is very vague as far as the definition & beliefs so to claim they support the current actions of Israel is antisemitic blood libel?

i don’t know if i think it is but i understand why people see it that way. most jews in the us, zionist or not, are opposed to the current actions of Israel. zionism itself, as far as it is definable, doesn’t require you to support the actions of israel at all

some zionists say in their opinion if you don’t support what israel is doing then you’re not really a zionist. other zionists say if you do support what israel is doing you’re not really a zionist. treating them all as a monolith is not accurate

the best comparison i can think of although its not great is how americans use the words “patriotism” and “patriot”. it’s really hard to make a blanket statement about what “patriots” support

The blood libel part is a bit much. But there is a history of Jewish communities being erased under the guise of “antizionism” when Zionism is ill defined and therefore anyone who is remotely sympathetic to the idea of a Jewish presence in Israel is labeled a “Zionist”
