It’s not about never making mistakes. We’re human. It’s about sitting down and actually discussing why things are good/bad decisions. Acknowledging when you’re wrong, when your “opponent” is right. I appreciate you vocalizing your regret. That takes a lot of effort to resolve your cognitive dissonance. What do we do now? Protest, vote for people you believe will actually make a change. Make your voices heard. Tell your GOP representatives why you’re considering leaving the party.

We don’t have all the answers it’s just an issue of common sense to realize this dude is bad news

Vote for literally anyone who goes against the regime and stop supporting Trump’s half-assed propaganda

Best thing OP can do is support GOP candidates who believe in moving on from maga they don’t need to become Dems. Wouldn’t demand that

Bc let’s face it we all hate the Democratic Party too

That’s precisely why I said “vote for people you think will actually make a change” bc you’re absolutely right - the current dem party is not the party that would make a meaningful change

Don’t think they should become a leftist they should affect change inside their own party

This might be a hot take but I’ll take a Republican staying a republican but turning on Trump over getting a new leftist any day

It depends if it’s a mamdani dem soc person then that’s fine. If it’s a weird pro Stalin/lenin person it’s probably just as ideologically bad, but at least they’re supporting a politically dead movement over maga.

I’m not welcoming them, they’re an adult they shouldn’t be basing their political ideology over who’s nice to them on yik yak, that’s actually insane.

If they want to talk about the pros and cons of an ideology I’m happy to do that but I’m not gonna glaze them bc they’re politically lost or whatever. You have to trust people to figure shit out the correct way.

🌊
Anonymous 2w

Yeah that’s a bad thing I’m not feeding into that shit. If they want to have a political convo with someone who represents ideas they disagree with or ideas they’re interested in, then I’m down. Figuring yourself out politically shouldn’t be trying to fill the space in your life where your community is supposed to be. That’s an unhealthy way to engage in politics.

The disillusioned conservative —> communist pipeline is real. Even if you don’t like commies, Capital is a great read if you’re interested in economics/philosophy/logic, actually incredible work

I mean it just depends. There’s a difference between having a personal friend pushing you to deal with your personal shit over hating women vs not critically thinking about your own ideology bc someone is nice to you lol.
