I didn’t say they personally do all the minor things but billionaires are like the engine of a car. You don’t need the engine to be visible or liked, but it provides the power that moves everything forward. They provide massive amounts of capital for businesses, innovation, research, infrastructure, and risky ideas that might otherwise struggle to get funded Everything around you cost money and makes money. Starbucks and the iPhone you cherish so much wouldn’t exist if they didn’t make money

The wealth is not disproportionate. It’s based on the value you bring to the business. That’s how the world works. My dad isn’t a billionaire but he owns a successful business. He makes 5x what our highest-paid employee makes. Does he work harder? No. Does he bring more value to the business? Yes

First Elon assumes all the risk. If any of his companies go out of business the employees can just switch companies. Elon is fucked. Additionally Elon’s value isn’t that he works harder physically than every employee. It’s that his decisions, capital, vision, and ability to organize thousands of people can affect the entire company. One employee produces one piece of the machine. Elon helps decide where the entire machine goes.
