Most people in the USA are protestants, which do not believe in any Catholic principals and therefore do not believe the Pope is infallible. Also it is a misnomer that the Pope is infallible in the Catholic canon. He hears directly from and speaks on behalf of god but that does not mean he is infallible

I agree with what the pope is saying, but he hasn’t spoken infallibly so far. For a pope to speak infallibly, they’re mainly explicitly defining a doctrine and focusing only on matters of faith/morals. He must also be speaking at the seat and office of Peter specifically.
