very mixed on nationalizing defense, especially now at a point where it’s becoming more competitive because of smaller defense companies that self fund rather than relying on cost plus for everything, which allows them more room for innovation maybe that would work if done perfectly tho

Debt is not an issue. Majority of debt is just government bonds. USA is paying them off at appropriate rates. Being in constant debt is okay to remain globally competitive. This isn’t the same as an individual being in debt. If our country would not be in constant debt it would actually be a bad thing because it would mean we aren’t developing quickly enough.
