primary, voting AOC if she runs, beshear if she doesn’t. the general? whichever candidate a) actually has a chance of winning and b) is at least willing to pretend they aren’t fascist. cause lord knows we’re not getting a better option than that.

im hoping AOC is the democratic candidate but she has to beat out whoever else wants to run in the primary, kamala definitely loses that, but then you have to look out for gavin chudsome and like van hollen, who im not too upset about but i dont think he would be different enough to counterbalance all the right-wing backsliding

I cant believe its two unelectable women vs one scumbag man. WHY does the DNC keep running candidates that will not win bruh. We already know Harris wont win why are they even entertaining that, and to the gen.pop AOC is just a “worse” Harris, a progressive women of color. I hate to say it but Newsom at least is a white man, which some republicans/centrists can actually switch sides for… but i HATE Newsom and Harris and i dislike AOC so i just dont even know. I hate the dems bruh why why why why

agreed, we elected a black man when most of us were learning to shit in the toilet instead of our pants. i think this time a candidate like aoc has time to rally support for popular anti-zionism and have an actual full-length campaign

Bc my repub fam would love to vote for a pro-israel democrat, the trump spell is kind of breaking, EXCEPT that they thought she would make Michelle Obama VP and they couldnt handle the idea of two WOC in office, so they went deeper into the trump spell

Look, as much as I don’t like it, there aren’t going to be many mainstream candidates who are openly critical of Israel. Bernie would have been great 10 years ago. I would love an AOC presidency but idk how successful her possible run would be. But you’re doubtful to have a good candidate, because they’re easy to attack. Bernie gets away with being critical of Israel because he is Jewish. The other candidates won’t have that.

I feel like those are pretty big issues though, issues democrats don’t seem to stick up for. Our nation is in deep debt and it seems like he’s the only person who actually has principles he sticks by fiscally and otherwise. I disagree with him on a lot, but on important things like war, rule of law holding elites accountable, and basic honesty from our public servants I think he has one of if not the best record

These are baseline expectations of our politicians. Otherwise, Massie is a hardline conservative. I’d take him over most Republicans, but not over any Dems

Anonymous replying to -> #4 1w

Like I think we have just hit such a low point that those being on the right side of those two issues are enough for me. It shows I can actually trust the guy to be an honest actor and do what he thinks is best for Americans, even if I disagree with him on a lot. I don’t have that sense with other politicians, especially not newsom. Most democrats will just continue the status quo with our Epstein class elites and keep supporting Israel in anything. The best Democrat ik of on these issues is

Anonymous replying to -> #4 1w

Senator Van Hollen and even he doesn’t go as far as Massie against Israeli corruption in our politics and questioning the “alliance” as a whole. He’s still pro Israel while anti-Netanyahu and genocide, which to be frank is a complete cop out bc Israeli society itself and the state broadly across parties supports genocide and Israeli expansion. It’s sad that the best Democrat is getting flanked by a Republican

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #8 1w

I understand that, but I’d still want a left-leaning person as president if at all possible. While I appreciate Massie’s courage in standing up to Trump, he is still very much a hardline conservative

Anonymous replying to -> #4 1w

He’s a seriously consistent libertarian, I’ll give him that. But I disagree with him on a lot of things, and frankly, I’m fine with someone like Van Hollen or Beshear compared to someone who thinks the free market will keep coal mining debris out of the water

Yeah I want that too, but I just don’t see any democrats with a spine or any real principles in the running tbh. I just want to live in a country where politicians actually serve the American people, not some foreign country, corporate overlords, or cultist lobbies. I will legit take an actually honest Republican if they’re the only ones to do that. It’s sad that our country has gotten to this point where the near minimum is seen as gold

Beshear called for redactions in the Epstein files to "protect victims" when the victims themselves said they wanted a full release (it’s just a more deceitful way of protecting criminals while pretending to care). He literally hasn't called Israel's actions a genocide once, he supports banning boycotts of Israel, he signed into law the IHRA definition of antisemitism which allows colleges to kick you out for being anti Israel as being antisemitic, etc.

I’m sorry, you’re saying the victims wanted everything revealed? Didn’t several victims just contact the DOJ because their identities were revealed?

upvote 1 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #9 1w

The types of redactions he called for were not just blocking out victim names, he supported the types of redactions we got which covered for the pdfiles and actually outed the victims. We still haven’t gotten all the files they’ve even admitted to having. And there were victims at Pam bondi’s hearing calling for a full release

Anonymous replying to -> #8 1w

Do you have a link to what he said about the redactions he wanted? Because that’s a serious allegation While I appreciate the courage of those victims, they’re the ones that are fine with their identities being public. They do not speak for the ones that never wanted their names revealed. And they absolutely exist
