FUUUUUCK LOOK WHO THE RADICAL LEFT JUST ELECTED FUUUUUUCK FUUUUUUCK WERE FUUUUUCKEDWhy is it so hard to understand that people donāt like him because of two obvious reasons 1. He supports socialism which is horrible for America and 2. He has in the past supported terrorist groups (Iām not saying he does now or lets it bleed into his current politics but point stands nonetheless)
Horrible for America but heās making it work in New York? The only people who hate socialism are the rich because it forces them to pay their fair share of taxes. šš The rich have gaslit you into thinking taxing the POOR more than you tax the WEALTHY is a good thingššš
Itās crazy how the people who would actually benefit from socialism are the ones speaking against it. Just goes to show that they have no clue what socialism is or how it works. The 1% donāt even gotta fight against socialism cause they tricked the poor people into doing it for them
The way zhoran is doing it isnāt correct? I wanna see if you know what youāre talking about. Please tell me how is Zohran taxing the wealthy in New York, and how is it a bad thing. Because Iāve read his proposal front to back and itās fair and doable. Please also include how you would do it better since you said you support taxing the rich
Every non Nordic socialist country gets raped by America. Saying socialist countries suck because their socialist is like saying a trackstar who got shot in the spine canāt win a race because he doesnāt know how to run. Nah dip they get shot in the knees anytime they try to advance.
also in all honesty itās immensely disingenuous to say that Nordic countries are socialist (for 9, not you) what is commonly described as āsocialismā in terms of existing countries, is most often a social democracy (which is not socialism, but capitalism with heavy regulation in favor of social stability) for example, there are no socialist nations within the EU, and the few that could be described as socialist (in the most fundamental sense of working to deconstruct capitalism towards
For clarification I agree, I think we get bogged down in labels rather than actually looking at what these people are advocating for. Also Socialism is an economic policy style not a stance on democracy vs authoritarianism. You can be a capitalist and be authoritarian ( Mussolini, hitler) and a Socialist for democracy
Hitler was not a socialist, this is why rhetoric is important. the nazi party specifically, and per their own admission, co-opted the terminology of socialism in order to manipulate the working class during their attempts at consolidating power. I think the reasoning for why every non-Nordic country is attacked by America when attempting to implement socialism is because many actually do try to deconstruct capitalism, aka truly implement socialism; whilst as I stated, Nordic countries do not
Nordic countries do not implement socialism, they implement social democracy (a sub form of capitalism focused on regulation in favor of society, stability, and social safety nets) the fundamental issue here is pro-capitalist vs anti-capitalist. most people describe pro-capitalist social democracies as socialism when that isnāt accurate, but any true socialist nations attempting to deconstruct capitalism indeed meets the fate you described above (goddamned US imperialism)
For the median voter and in the context of this discussion that doesnāt really matter. What Zohran is advocating is closer to Nordic socialism than democracy than socialism. I also donāt think things can be reduced to just pro vs anti capitalist without dumbing down the conversation.
With all due respect, that is what the ideology is. Fundamentally, it is an anticapitalist ideology, despite it being co-opted by capitalists in favor of reform. Iād argue that the median voter also suffers from the long-lasting Cold War propaganda (that we still use till this day) and donāt actually have a true understanding of the terms āsocialismā or ācommunismā, which makes these convos much harder to have imo
Sure, Nordic countries are āsocialistā in the perspective of median voters, but that isnāt because theyāre truly and materially socialist nations, itās because we have successfully conditioned the masses on the topic of these anti-capitalist ideologies. itās why most Americans donāt even know the term āsocial democracyā, we donāt teach accurate political theory, nor history, in our public schools (which is entirely intentional).
and I wasnāt trying to say that all socialist and communist ideology is only anti-capitalist, but more so meant to imply that being anti-capitalist is a fundamental backbone of those ideologies Similarly to how monarchies have a fundamental backbone of a royal class, without that key distinction it doesnāt truly align as much under that terminology yk?
Wrong. It IS the same god they just choose not to agree. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are ALL Abrahamic religions. All of them recognize the otherās prophets, all of them see Abraham as the Patriarch. The only real differences are how they view Jesus. Jewish people believe their savior has yet to come and Jesus was just another prophet. Muslim people believe Muhammad was their savior (not divine) and Jesus was just a Prophet. Christian people believe Jesu was their savior and the Son of God.
We have clear ideas of what both Socialism and Communism are, and they have been around since the beginning. Socialism: An economic system where the government or community controls major resources and services so wealth is shared more equally and basic needs are met. Communism: A political and economic system where all property is collectively owned and social classes are eliminated, with resources distributed based on need.
They both look great on paper, but in application, they donāt work. We arenāt a society of ants. We are free thinkers that will rebel against anything they donāt agree with. Itās human nature. Itās why things like the Renaissance and the Enlightenment happened. Revolutions and wars. When we truly want something, we will work to get it. Our own human nature and instinct is anti-socialist and anti-communist.
wait, since youāre this pressed about Zohran (acting as if he said it), you vocally oppose nearly all US politicians then right? if the premise is racism, then we gotta look at the politicians who are personally racist as fuck tbh, which is why Iām confused as to why youāre fixating on mamdaniā¦
A: Literally no one said B: Sheās literally apologized and taken accountability for her mistakes which is what people should expect when other people make mistakes C: She isnāt the mayor D: I wonder what regrets you have in your life, if that is the extent of the skeletons in her closet and she has changed then I think sheās fine.
The crux of their argument relies on the idea that she hasnāt changed anyways which no one here is going to truly know unless she does something bad to show she hasnāt. Itās such a useless conversation and masquerades as progressive when progressivism relies on rehabilitation and people changing at its core.
