the more i think about it, i genuinely cannot think of a single area of my life where ai is needed. theres absolutely zero cases in my professional, educational, or personal life where ai was needed or wanted. not even once.

AI can detect irregularities too small or subtle for humans and then humans can follow up with a closer scan

no yeah ofc. im talking about personally. i dont need AI on social media or outlook or online shopping or or or. cases like that are obv an exception. but putting AI in EVERYTHING is so unnecessary, especially when no one fucking asked for it. just wasting water and polluting communities bc ppl are too lazy to form questions and thoughts independently. lame af

I’d argue that’s fundamentally a different thing than generative AI. They aren’t saying “chatGPT, scan this”. These are different, medicine specific models that have been developing way longer than AI chatbot stuff.

I agree. The issue is that they determined they could make bank off it. Though they’re different modalities, it sets precedent. All it takes (took) is a couple billionaires to determine how to market it in a digestible way to milk data and sell it to the highest bidder. I know that there are some legitimate uses for various models. But it’s a veryyyy slippery slope.
