look bro, i’m black. it’s been three hundred years of people voting against my interests and theirs for petty, selfish reasons, then having the audacity to tell me it's not productive to shame them for their behavior. they should feel shame, they should feel bad about themselves. it’s the fact they can't handle guilt or shame or accountability that makes them vote for someone like Trump, who is the most shameless, guiltless, lacking accountability motherfucker on the planet.

if they were ever allowed to reckon with their shame, their utter stupidity, the disregard they treat the warning of my people with, maybe this would all change. but it doesn't. it’s the same shit. so this time, i’m gonna hole every person accountable and hope everyone does. it’s necessary and it's right.

Nah man like I get it you’re right they should feel shame and be held accountable. But using that as a means to bring others down just perpetuates the cycle of hatred. At some we gotta stand together and be like we’re above this, not because you deserve mercy but bc it’s what’s right yk

it’s not about them changing their minds. it’s about accountability after the fact. i don’t give a fuck who they vote for, but if they vote for known racist assholes don’t expect sympathy from me when he acts like a known racist asshole. accountability isn’t in an apology or admitting you’re wrong, it’s in sustained changed behavior and daily reckoning with the wreckage caused. people who do wrong things and expect people to move on or not be critical of them have not taken true accountability.

I agree. I just think a more effective means of getting people to change their actions is through understanding Like would you blame a child who grew up in a cult for believing that their world view was the correct one? For a significant proportion of America all they know is right wing propaganda

the problem is though that all the fuckers who are voting for him actually DO know better, have seen better, and are aware of the harm it causes. they just make mental exceptions and excuses because it’s just not what they like or would prefer. my great uncle still supports Trump even with a transgender grandson — in response to mentioning his best interests and wellbeing, my great uncle says “that’s just one issue” as if it’s not his grandson’s entire life and survival at stake…

Because a ton of the shit he was campaigning on was either contradictory or downright stupid. “We’ll fix the housing market… by deporting people that can’t buy houses” “We’re the peace party… but we’re going to continue to burn money in the Middle East” “We’re going to deport the illegals… and set quotas that are way higher than there are illegals” “we’ll make shit cheaper… while also implementing tariffs”

I wish it were that simple my guy, then it’d be easy to find an entity to blame. But it’s not. I promise you, the vast majority of Americans want what’s best for America. But if you spend your entire life learning that one side is an evil opponent who wants to destroy your livelihood, yeah it’s easy to think that any and all actions against them are justified.

buddy it’s that simple. they did not care enough to educate themselves or admit when they were wrong. now they’re victims of a “culture war” because they didn’t care to be a good neighbor to people that they don’t agree with. it’s fucking bizzare. it’s mainly the least educated people in my family that are Trump supporters still today, but it’s fucking depressing how many of them HAVE the skills to understand it but chose to be comfortably ignorant rather than be knowledgeable & uncomfortable..

if all it takes is someone telling them that they should take accountability for their actions is enough for them to return back then they were never interested in changing their beliefs in the first place. they only now regret their vote because THEYRE affected they didn’t care about anyone else.
