That’s obviously terrible but do you really expect the US news/government to pay tons of attention to a village thousands of miles away in a different country? Does it make the news in Sudan every time there’s a big wildfire in California or hurricane in the American South?

Yes, for the same reasons why the US cared about , Iraq , Afghanistan , Ukraine , Israel, Somalia , or Yemen

People never really gave a fuck when villages got destroyed in those places either big dog. Maybe Ukraine and Israel cause those are white people
