i just think it’s at best a pot and kettle situations when Americans talk about the supposed cruelty of other regimes. regardless of the state of Korea, the DPRK has been far less cruel to Koreans than the US and its proxy have been, given that the war and occupation of the peninsula destroyed 90% of the civilian infrastructure, and resulted in the death of 20% of the population. the south was a brutally repressive dictatorship that was far worse off than the north until the USSR collapsed
you’re not America, but you’re an American talking about the supposed evils that have filtered through the western propaganda machine, while your nation, headed by a genocidal child rapist, sends finances and arms the most well documented genocide in human history. any criticism falls flat on its face if we’re talking about the barbarity of regimes
Also no actually you can exist inside an evil regime and criticize another evil regime. If a North Korean said to me “hey man your country is evil as shit”, I wouldn’t start screaming about how they don’t have the right to say that, I’d agree. So why are you fighting me on their behalf?
