Most people in the US can’t handle revolution. Revolution means dying. It means starving. It means losing every safety net you’ve ever had. If you’re not willing to starve and die and lose everything, then you’re not ready for revolution.

Revolution takes a strength most people just simply don’t have because Revolution always leaves people completely defenseless and they have to fend for themselves and rebuild on their own.

This is exactly true and it’s fucking depressing. What actually do we do about it? No one wants to hear the ugly truth so we just keep spiraling to a dictatorship.

People are flaming you but you’re not wrong. Any time I mention “something needs to give, we need to do more,” people freak out and say “but that will cause a revolution and people will die!!!1!” Like??? Either you want change or you are too cowardly to accept what that change requires. It’s really not that confusing.

You think revolution is fun because this government is bad but you don’t understand the actual suffering you have to endure to get true freedom via revolution.

unless they're saying "yes it's hard but it's worth it" no. i might be misunderstanding (if i am PLEASE correct me) but are they saying we shouldn't revolt?

I interpreted it as they support revolution themself but don’t think the average American is ready for what it takes to see the change we need

100%, it’s been so interesting having conversations abt that here. So many people throw the word around but few of us are prepared to do what it takes right now, which is a big issue. I can’t help but think that this is how it went in Germany, people being kept comfortable and within reach of plausible deniability while authoritarianism slowly creeps in.

^unfortunately I think things need to get much worse before significant numbers of Americans are at the point of risking everything to revolt
