I don’t have any proof, but I think that the reason that leftists are viewed as making up primarily feminine people, and are expected to be the ones taking a more passive stance and to cool things down. Republicans are then seen as the male in the situation and is then free to act as they like. Apologies if this is confusing, I am high.
