Maybe because the effects of historical discrimination still manifest in things like socioeconomic status, educational attainment, and healthcare outcomes? But even with that very few if any programs cater to only minorities.

Sounds like a skill issue to me (not to mention victimization). People love to pretend it’s impossible to get out of those circumstances, but drastic social mobility is more possible here than anywhere else on the planet.

No one is saying it’s impossible we’re saying it’s less likely. Maybe you have loser mentality and you want to be better than the middle-east, but in America we want to constantly improve, so it’s irrelevant if something is worse somewhere else we’ll still try to do better.
