But they’re still less efficient than public transit because each person takes up more space. In the absolute best case scenario where all the above works perfectly then you would end up with a system that’s still less efficient on average than public transit while giving up way more space to cars

But you’d still need to build out massive amounts of road infrastructure to make that truly possible, especially in cities. The roads simply don’t have the bandwidth to support everyone taking driverless cars everywhere
