It’s terrifying seeing conservatives on a manhunt for people making jokes about Charlie Kirk when they’re the same people making jokes about trans suicide. Like comedy is legal just for them. Make fun of horrific things but just for them

I’ve seen some really funny Kirk jokes from the right. Not as many, but still some from the left too. But saying shit like “thank god he’s dead” is not a joke, and that’s what’s getting backlash

“We lost our jobs for simple tweets” spreading misinformation on vaccines, saying slurs of all kinds (both of which actively endanger real people in real life, not just your grifter mouth piece that finally faced consequences)

We lost our jobs for simple tweets long before you assholes, you wanna cry about Kimmel and then conveniently sweep when you guys got people like James Gunn and Gina Carano for a decade old tweet and a tweet with a mild opinion about the political environment. Or when you guys got dozens of people fired for having the most milquetoast opinions on a rushed medicine You guys created this situation and are now reaping the consequences of the same sword you used to skewer everyone else.

Cool, if you think those removals were deserved, then don’t whine about people getting fired for celebrating the death of others

I get your point to a certain degree if we’re talking about social movements on the left. I think it’s true that people got socially cancelled for some pretty ridiculous things. I think the difference here is that the federal government is the one censoring and cancelling people, not mobs of influential civilian leftists online.

The only real leftist government censorship I can point to would be the governments attempts to suppress vaccine mis/disinformation. And in that case I think they could’ve done a better job but I don’t think it was entirely wrong. Bad vaccine info amplified by social media could actually lead to massive amounts of real suffering and death. What’s the legitimate fear the trump administration has that could justify the government axing talk show hosts?
