 Why aren’t there pro marching bands ?

There’s drum corps, but I’m assuming for the NFL it would cut too far into profit margins, marching band is generally never a profitable venture

Even so, drum corps and marching bands are pretty different. Also side note. The US military has professional marching bands but the scope is very very small

There is. Drum Corps International. The thing is, all the corps are non-profits, and so are broke constantly. Professional marchers don’t GET paid to march, they PAY around $5k or more per season to live in sleeping bags on gym floors/buses.

Ah. Well, because the NFL doesn’t care about musicians unless it makes them look good. They bring in pop artists to boost ratings. Marching bands wouldn’t boost their ratings enough to make them want to. Unlike cheerleaders, who make middle aged dads horny.

I agree, as a marcher. But sadly, the NFL doesn’t care about the arts.

the commanders have a marching band, but i dont believe theyre paid or anything theyre literally the only team that has one in the nfl to my understanding tho
