Less than 50 Americans have been detained by ice on the grounds of citizenship, less than 20 we’re held for more than a few hours. This is law enforcement. This happens in every country with a law enforcement system. More than 100 have been detained for interfering with ICE operations. Those people are trying to stop the law from being upheld
I’m okay with criminals being detained when they’re stopping ICE from doing their job. I’m okay when criminals get detained by ice for crossing the border. I’m not “OK” with American citizens being detained on grounds of their citizenship, but I acknowledge that this is the law enforcement process and this is what happened with most crimes, you find suspects, and sort them out later.
I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m trying to say at all. You can’t discriminate against an entire group of people who is by the way already disproportionately worse off all because of the actions of a group of them. Also using statistics without context is a very dangerous thing.
Idk how to tell you this but not only would they not but just look at 2020 for examples as to what would happen. Everyone blamed China for Covid (which to be fair that’s valid) but that lead to several attacks and hate groups against any Asian person. Now I’m not sure if this happened to you since I feel you’d have a LICK of empathy otherwise but if you think you’re safe, you’re not. They’ll go after you the moment they need a new enemy, because you’re “different” to them.
