i think it depends on how strictly you define cult. Maga is insane but not really technically a cult even if some of them behave like it is. i would guess the biggest cult in history by membership is one of the decentralized online ones active right now like order of nine angels/764

I guess Cult of Personality would work here but that doesn’t exactly exclude religion? Maybe secular cult? I can maybe think of Post-Revolutionary France under Robespierre kinda fitting that I guess?
