it’s not racist to point out that a lot of black culture has been co-opted by white people, watering down the original meanings like OP is saying. just look at AAVE, k-pop, rock music, jazz music, etc. even the fucking banjo which is heavily correlated with poor white people was a black slave invention.

if you wanna look even deeper, the commodification of black art, namely rap music, is another example. hip-hop started as a counter culture and eventually got picked up by major record labels when it got popular enough. yes black artists have their own labels, but more times than not they’re sub-labels of larger companies. the black art is controlled by the white man at the top.

This just isn’t true. Black people just want to be appreciated for the things they do. Black culture is one of the most influential and consumed cultures globally yet black people are one of the most disrespected people.

Brother white people are recognized for everything they do to a nauseating extent. White people are quite literally seen as the standard to an unfair extent. Most of black hate globally is due to white supremacy. A person in Asia who’s never seen a black person gets their racism if darker skin from white depictions of black people. White people are the beauty standard which is why a lot of Asian countries see beauty as how pale you are.
