Weird how everyone can agree the migration crisis in Europe needs resolution yet here in America people are convinced there’s no issue and we need to keep accepting even more of them.

Is it? There is less room in Europe, more immigration related crime, and less resources to support increased immigration. In America we see decreases in crime and improvements in our economy as immigration increases. Almost like dynamics can be different in different places.

This is such an uneducated take

Yet they almost completely drained the social nets yall claim America should have. And keep pushing the propaganda that these people NEVER benefit from those programs. And we have birthright citizenship which incentivizes birth tourism.

We’re different countries. You know that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are unable to access food stamps, healthcare, and other types of government assistance right? Yet they pay income tax?

Birthright citizenship has been central to American identity since the founding, with your racist ass. Italians and Germans did this plenty but now it’s an issue because the immigrants aren’t white?

Lol you really think the founding father anticipated this? The U.S. constitution can always be amended and probably will be. That was intended for former slaves not just anyone who shows up.

Yeah so that’s horseshit. https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/house/117257/witnesses/HHRG-118-BU00-Wstate-KirchnerJ-20240508.pdf

Do I think the founding fathers of a nation of immigrants anticipated immigration? Yes actually. More than they anticipated regular school shootings because of a failure to ammend the 2nd amendment for modern times

Yes because those countries aren’t safe or prosperous like the us is. I really don’t think you understand how this dynamic works. For America to be so safe and prosperous she must always abuse her neighbors. That’s how we get anything firm cheap cobalt to cheap bananas. That’s why we can use our millitary or cia to kill anyone we want while Americans are protected people all around the globe. That’s how hegemony works

If I was fleeing persecution I’d want to end up in America over somewhere like Venezuela where you might be the target of an American drone or warplane for no reason at all

I love how you guys will claim with a straight face that the U.S. is a 3rd world country with school shootings everywhere yet also claim this narrative that we are so safe and advanced when it benefits immigrant propaganda.

We have pretty good life expectancies / quality of life compared to actual third word countries but we have children dying of shootings at similar numbers to children dying from cancer or car crashes; the former is entirely preventable. It is rightly embarrassing and shameful that we have so many more shootings than any other rich first world democracy with plenty of funding for law enforcement.

I mean are conservatives allergic to considering nuance? Stg every time these points get brought up they take maybe 3 minutes of research to understand why it’s a bad faith comparison.

Nuance? Is that why I see all these leftists making heartfelt posts about asylum seekers surviving whatever country they came from only to somehow die by the hands of ICE. And constantly complaining about police brutality. And complaining about our corrupt government. And all of our guns. Idk. Sounds like they’d be safer where they are. A homeless guy here can stab you out of boredom and libs think that’s a human right bc taking down tent camps is “mean.” Doesn’t sound like a safe country to me.

Dude you still have not provided anything even somewhat resembling an actual point. Many South American countries are indeed dangerous. Does that somehow mean that it’s ok for ice to kill immigrants? Obviously not. Does that mean that it’s cool that our police are beating people to death for no reason? Obviously not. Does that mean that we should accept a corrupt government or entirely preventable gun violence? Obviously not!

Part of me understands why y’all are so mad all the time bc damn it must be hard having no beliefs that can be backed up with logic because they’re all just regurgitated talking points made by our senile felon president. It must be incredibly frustrating, I’m really glad that there are actual reasons for me to believe the things I believe
