he’s Lebanese, and resigned of his own accord after believing the UN to be preemptively justifying the use of a nuclear bomb in Iran. I know you would like that, but the rest of the world is nowhere near as genocidal or bloodthirsty as the state of Israel. Safa is a man of principle, not some Hezbollah dog.
There’s plenty of eyewitnesses of Jesus’s death and resurrection. And many of scientists have tried to disprove God’s existence and are unable to do so. But I don’t need evidence anyway, that’s what faith is. Believing in something that you don’t need to see physically. Plus I see God in people, places, nature, etc. I wish you well 💜
“I don’t need real evidence because I just believe it on faith!” That could justify literally any horrific or false belief. There is no evidence that there are any eyewitness to Jesus Christs resurrection, just unsupported claims from texts written a century after his alleged death.
How do you know that anything exists? How do you know that up isn’t down and vice versa? That’s just what you believe and that’s ok. I encourage you to research the eye witness accounts that were not written in the Bible. And the works of historians and scientists and their research on the matter. Either way it’s your choice, that’s why we have free will. It’s important to be respectful of the opinions of others bc it just causes unnecessary division if not. I love you and I will pray for you :)
The last resort of a believer is to resort to solipsism which anyone will drop the second their senses detect a danger to themselves (suddenly there is no question it is real!). Even if the mythical god of the Bible were real, being an all powerful and knowing being he is responsible for every genocide, every death, and every ounce suffering that has ever occurred since the dawn of time. If the lack of evidence won’t convince you to stop worshipping a cosmic Hitler, his track record should.
I think you’re misreading God’s role. He isn’t there to control us and our actions, we’d have no individuality or uniqueness. These terrible acts you are referring to are from people using free will for evil and corruptions. Free will is a gift we are given just as life itself is a gift. It might be beneficial to try to see things from a different perspective, we all have a role we all have our differences. If we lived in a perfect world, nothing would be good, nothing would be bad
Except a tri-Omni god knows every action someone will take upon their creation if he is all knowing, meaning he deliberately created these people knowing full well what they would do (being all powerful he wasn’t required to do that). Free will is incompatible with an all powerful and all knowing god, and this is just another example of why the things you believe in, with nothing more than blind and ignorant faith, are ridiculous and logical impossibilities.
All powerful and all knowing does not mean what you think it does. Yes He knows all and can do anything but he doesn’t control us because that would inhibit our free will. What’s the point of free will at all of some people have it and some don’t? Without free will we’d be God’s puppets, we’d be doing His will and have no say, we wouldn’t think for ourselves. I understand your debate but I have a feeling you’ve never really studied anything you’re trying to disprove
I also wouldn’t be disgusted because like I said you are entitled to your own beliefs. God isn’t this horrible entity that likes to see people suffer. We suffer due to our own misuse of free will or others misusing it. Calling people names will not get your point across and this conversation is going nowhere because you’re too stubborn to try and understand why someone would have another opinion than you. I used to be agnostic, but God has helped me in a lot of ways to get through my depression
God has helped me to be a better person, to have more empathy, to love people without bias or prejudice. God has helped me blossom more into the person I want to be. I truly hope you experience that some day and find love in your heart to accept that not everyone thinks the same as you
Free will is impossible with an all knowing and powerful god, because he knows exactly what will happen upon your creation. There is not one mention of free will in the bible, you are simply regurgitating the apologetics taught to you in Sunday school. I absolutely have researched my beliefs and have actually read the entire Bible. Do you know god hardens hearts and directly influences “free will” in the book you claim to believe in?
Ok find me a verse then. Just one. I’ve read the entire thing and this apologetic exists independently of scripture. In fact calvanists seem to be the only denomination that recognizes this, and literally acknowledge that god predestined your life and whether you are saved (that’s pretty gross and completely rejects free will, but it’s because it’s logically impossible with the god you worship).
If there exists a verse that would prove me wrong, maybe I’d be saved!!! So you refusing to demonstrate this is to actively give up your calling to make disciples of all nations. The problem for you is that this verse does not exist, because the god in the Old Testament isn’t tri-Omni, and the tri-Omni god of Christian tradition, logically precludes free will.
The phrase “free will” is not in the bible as there are no direct translations for that phrase, it’s an English phrase that’s relatively new as opposed to the language used in biblical times but there are plenty of verses about “choosing life,” how Adam “freely ate” the fruit and how we have eternal life but choosing to have faith. It just takes a little bit of flipping through the pages to find them
No, what it takes is obfuscating the meaning the of the original text and meaning, to make cherry picked examples match an apologetic created by people needing to reconcile a deeply flawed god concept with their moral feelings of what god actually should be. If god is truly all powerful and omniscient, he created every sinner knowing exactly what would save them, chooses not to make it occur, and creates a person knowing they will be predestined for hell. This concept cannot exist in reality
Besides, even if I conceded that god gives us free will in the Bible (I don’t, and if he did, he would no longer be omniscient) he’s still responsible for all non human inflicted suffering, the babies with cancer, the starving people in drought stricken countries, etc. He would also be responsible for creating a Hell in the first place, which is infinitely worse than any action a human could ever inflict upon another during our finite lifetime. A literal cosmic Hitler.
What is all this by the way? Do you have a humiliation fetish or something? You have to know that most actual sentient people aside from boomers rotting in their recliners and Jewish ethnonationalists want to see Israel completely dissolved for the genocide we’ve all watched happen over the course of years.
