Not even to get into the core idea of this quote but this idea that the white liberal should be treated negatively ignores the demographic reality of this nation. If you as a black person wish to live here with rights you need a portion of the majority to be in favor of you

I could be wrong, but this quote seems directed at a Black audience. Seems like Malcolm X was trying to help Black people live in a world where neither side of mainstream politics really gets it. One part is missing, I think: what do white leftists do about it?

Receiving the message and knowing what to do are two different things. As a white leftist, I’m using this moment in history to learn what it’s like to live in fear of the government. I never want to forget this. Because if I forget, I risk repeating history for generations of innocent Black children.
