I’m pretty all of that is true…? But yes America also enslaves poc and that’s a big piece of slavery that should also be talked about.

No one is arguing slavery is unique to America. But pirates enslaving white Europeans has no effect on us. Chattel slavery of black Americans has drastically shaped our history and influenced systemic inequalities in modern America.

So… the video actually has nothing to do with the US lmao. This point is always so weird to me. ‘Hey these other people practiced slavery! That means it’s okay that we did it!’ Like, no? That’s not how that works. They also always seem to conveniently ignore how the US exclusively practiced barbaric chattel slavery while African slavery wasn’t always chattel, meaning American slavery was much more horrific.

Tbf to you first point… the video title doesn’t actually mention the US. Not saying the video is by any means right or good, but it seems like it’s not trying to solely focus on American slavery, but it as a whole
