Idek how battles even start tbh like in all the classic movie-type battles in open fields do the generals just agree to have everyone meet up and kill each other

War back in the day was real different than it is today, hundreds of years ago yeah everyone would line up in either a decided place or where they happened to meet as they marched

Used to be you met in an open field with all your guys lined up wherever they met each other in your formation, then WW1 happened and they tried that and it resulted in large scale trench warfare, now you mostly focus on holding key defensive positions and battles happen when the other side tries to take that position or launches an offensive that tries to take multiple

It’s more gorilla warfare and drones can do a lot of the fighting rather than humans
