We’ve always been fairly corrupt, but legal loopholes like lobbying and rebates existed. Now it’s just blatant 😭

Who was covertly assassinated?

A lot of people. The evidence for a lot of them is [intentionally] not very clear cut, but many were believed to be killed by the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover, including MLK and JFK.

If the evidence isn’t clear then maybe we shouldn’t believe it.

I’m gonna believe a conspiracy theory much more willingly than I’d believe the J. Edgar Hoover-era FBI and CIA tbh.
Also, the USA has assassinated and overthrown a lot of political opponents abroad much more obviously

I mean there’s COINTELPRO. I think the JFK assassination is a bit more conspiracy-esque but possible (but I think it’s because he pressured Israel on nuclear inspections)

Ok I said nothing about Edgar Hoover I’m just giving the brave take that we shouldn’t believe things without evidence. Sure we want to move the goal post that’s cool.

I said something about J. Edgar Hoover though. I’m not moving a goalpost. The USA loves to assassinate their political opponents at home and abroad, and then try to cover it up.

Ok that’s cool you’re having a convo with yourself about Edgar. Cool I’m only talking about domestic political opponents that’s meaningfully different than killing people from a different state you’re hostile to.
